"Created by treaty on 22 September 1948, the US-UK Educational Commission (Fulbright Commission) fosters mutual cultural understanding through educational exchange between both nations. We fulfil this mission in two ways: through our prestigious Fulbright Awards Programme and EducationUSA advisory service.

"The US-UK Fulbright Commission has a distinguished history built on the legacy of the late Senator J. William Fulbright. The global Fulbright Programme is one of the most prestigious awards programmes world-wide operating in over 150 countries, with over 300,000 alumni. Approximately 15,000 UK nationals have studied in the US and over 12,000 US nationals in the UK on our educational exchange programmes. An additional 70,000 students, parents and advisors are served each year by our advisory service through our online information about US study, events and enquiries."[1]

  • Penny Egan (UK) CBE is currently the Executive Director of the US-UK Fulbright Commission joining the organisation in February 2007.
