US-Cuba Democracy PAC is an anti-Castro political action committee whose contributions to candidates totalled more than $214,000 in the 2004 election cycle. Approximately 71% of those contributions went to Republican candidates and 29% went to Democratic candidates. Among the candidates were Florida Republican Katherine Harris, Georgia Republican Phil Gingrey, and Pennsylvania Republican Don Sherwood.
Most of the contributors are residents of South Florida. Cuban-Americans are a powerful ethnic lobby in American politics.
