"UK India Business Council is the premier business-led organisation promoting bilateral trade and investment between the two countries... The origins of the UKIBC date back to 1993, when the Indo-British Partnership (IBP) initiative was mooted by the Prime Ministers of both countries. In 2005, IBP evolved into a private limited company, Indo-British Partnership Network (IBPN). Acknowledging the vast opportunity for business in the UK-India corridor, in January 2007, former Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Gordon Brown, increased the funding to IBPN. In Sept 2007, UKIBC was created with a clear mandate to increase bilateral trade and investment." [1]
