U.S. Fuel Corporation
U.S. Fuel Corporation is a company focused on coal-to-liquids production. Its website states that it "plans to design, build, own and operate scalable facilities to convert coal into non-petroleum based alternative fuels, such as diesel, gasoline and aviation."[1]
The first facility will be located near Central City in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, and be designed to process 148 tons of coal per day to create approximately 8,500 gallons of syndiesel. Upon completion of the first facility, US Fuel said it intends to replicate the process "in multiple, larger scaled commercial facilities."[1]

Muhlenberg County, Kentucky facility
U.S. Fuel Corp. plans to invest $76 million to create the Muhlenberg County facility. As of August 2012 the proposed plant site is 121 acres on a reclaimed coalfield near an active mining operation. The company has secured funding from Global Private Funding Business Incubation Program. Once the engineering and permits are secured, the construction period would be about five months for the first unit.[2]
