"Journalist and television news anchor for Global Television Quebec since 1998, Tanya Churchmuch was president of Reporters Without Borders Canada from 2001 to 2005. During her tenure as president, Ms. Churchmuch carried out over 1,000 interviews with various Quebec, Canadian and international media with the goal of rendering the public aware to the importance of the questions related to press freedom. Ms. Churchmuch graduated from the Political Science department of McGill University with her Bachelors degree and earned her graduate degree in journalism from Conocordia University. She has written for several Canadian newspapers and magazines such as The Montreal Gazette and The Globe and Mail. Lastly, Ms. Churchmuch has also found time to work on several independent documentaries and television programs." [1]
