Beware "advice" from co-opted government agencies!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be advised that many government agencies themselves are increasingly controlled by the very industries they are entrusted to police, and are consequently unreliable sources of information -- if not outright emitters of propaganda -- regarding the industry. The emphasis of the supposed "watchdog" agency is co-opted into (1) protection of the major players of the industry, and (2) barring new competition and its products. The FDA and SEC are arch-typical examples of such "foxes guarding henhouses", and have a revolving-door employment arrangement with the policed industry in question.
