"To address these challenges and opportunities, in 2001, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the TOSA Foundation, in collaboration with the Rockefeller Foundation, launched The Philanthropy Workshop West (TPW West). For eight years, TPW West flourished successfully taking more than 100 alumni Network members through a rigorous program in modern philanthropy. Inspired by the impact of the program, in 2009 members of the TPW West Network transitioned the program out of the Hewlett Foundation and into an independent organization." [1]
