Biographical Information

"Suzi began her professional career in Chicago at Lincoln Park Zoological Society and it is there that she became passionate about her community work. She returned to Melbourne in the early 1990’s and commenced work in her family’s business Smorgon Consolidated Industries – a diversified global industrial business. This was a dream come true – always wanting to be the first woman family member to professionally enter the business.

"However in 1994 after the family’s announcement of the Smorgon groups divestment Suzi’s career changed course and she then established a family and investment office which she is still involved with.

"Today, Suzi remains closely involved in River Capital the business she co-founded with her husband Barry in 1996. She remains committed to community and philanthropic activities – with a passion and focus on youth and mental health. She currently is chair of Pilotlight Australia, is on the board of the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and chairs its development board. She is a member of Social Ventures Australia’s Leadership Council." [1]

Her husband is Barry Carp.
