"Susan Rockefeller is a documentary filmmaker whose in-depth look at critical issues has won top awards at many film festivals across the United States and around the world. Her recent efforts include producing and directing the HBO documentary "Making the Crooked Straight", which received a 2011 Christopher Award; directing and producing "Striking a Chord" on the ability of music to help heal Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD). She directed and produced "Mission of Mermaids" on ocean health, and is currently in production on two films: one about agricultural breeders, farmers and chefs; the other on Bach's "Coffee Cantata". When she’s not making films, Susan designs message-inspired jewelry to raise awareness about protecting family, art and nature, and sits on the boards of Oceana, the We Are Family Foundation and the program committee for The Stone Barns for Sustainable Agriculture. Susan is married and lives with her husband and children in New York City."
Susan Cohn, "a daughter of Barbara B. Cohn and Bertram J. Cohn of New York" married David Rockefeller Jr., a son of David Rockefeller in 2008. "Mrs. Cohn Rockefeller, 49, is a producer and director of documentaries, including “Richard Nelson’s Alaska,” part of a PBS series called “Natural Heroes” in 2003, and “Green Fire: Lives of Commitment and Passion in a Fragile World,” broadcast on PBS in 1998. She is the author of “Green at Work: Finding a Business Career That Works for the Environment” (Island Press, 1992). She graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., and received a master’s of education from New York University. Her previous marriage ended in divorce.
"Her father is a managing director of First Manhattan Company, an investment management firm in New York, and is on the governing council of the Wilderness Society in Washington. Her mother is a former trustee of Sarah Lawrence. Mr. and Mrs. Cohn endowed the Cohn Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas , a research and graduate teaching institute at Tel Aviv University."
