Super spike

In April, investment bank Goldman Sachs warned that oil, then sitting at nearly $60 U.S. per barrel, could face a "super spike," reaching $105 per barrel. In early July that number was repeated by University of Toronto professor Joe D'Cruz in a radio interview regarding General Motors and its ongoing difficulties.

Other analysts dismiss this as part of the Peak Oil analysis, and hype.
