The Summit on Sectoral Cooperation is being organized by the Polish Ministry of Economy with the stated aim of promoting "opportunities for the cooperation of governments and energy-intensive industries to tackle climate change." The meeting will be held in Warsaw, Poland, on November 27-28, 2008.[1]

In particular, the meeting will involve representatives from the steel,cement and aluminum industries which account for approximately 11% of global carbon dioxide emissions.[1]

The conference is scheduled for just prior to the COP14 conference. which will be held in Poznan in Poland. The Polish Ministry of Economy has stated that the conference will include presentations from the International Aluminum Institute and the International Iron and Steel Institute.[1]
