Steven Hamburg

Steve Hamburg "is an Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Brown University. Dr. Hamburg served as the lead author in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) special report on land-use and land-cover change. He has testified before the U.S. Senate and worked with the House and Senate staff on drafting legislation, as well as briefing the U.S. negotiating team prior to the Hague negotiations on the Kyoto Protocol. He was a senior ecologist at the Environmental Defense Fund, the director of the Environmental Studies Program at the University of Kansas, and the first environmental ombudsman at the University. Professor Hamburg is the author and co-author of numerous articles having appeared in a variety of journals, including Science and Nature, in addition to research reports and books on environmental issues and forest ecology. He received his doctorate and master's in forest ecology from Yale University." [1]
