Biographical Information
"Steven joined Newton in 2009 in the role of Senior Advisor, bringing with him an extensive understanding of the European grocery sector as a vastly experienced retailer. He is a non-executive director of Tyrrells Potato Chips, Cranswick plc and an operating partner in Langholm Capital.
"Previously Managing Director of Waitrose and Executive Director of Food at Marks & Spencer, Steven has also held board positions at Carphone Warehouse, Ocado and John Lewis Partnership. His career started at J Sainsbury in 1983, where he was a senior buying director in food and personal care categories, before moving to Ladbroke Group at Texas (DIY) and Hilton Hotels. Steven has chaired a number of industry bodies including a steering group for the Food Standards Agency."[1]
