Steve Van Dyke is both the Communications Director at Lignite Energy Council[1] and the Director of Communications for Partners for Affordable Energy[2], both of which are pro-coal lobby groups.

Background

A biographical note on the Lignite Energy Council website states that Van Dyke "is a graduate of the University of Montana" and that he has worked "for newspapers and utilities". "He has been involved with the North Dakota energy industry since 1985," it states.[3]

PAC Contributions

Van Dyke has been an annual contributor to the Lignite Energy Council Political Action Committee. In 2004 he contributed $385 with further contributions of $420, $405, $405 and $420 in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 1008 respectively.[4]
