The Social Care Association sells itself as a professional org for carers. It 'provides a voice for social care professionals through its staff and officers in consultations and various national bodies' [1] It has corporate members as well as individual ones - membership fee is £195/£295/£395.
It was founded in 1949 as the Residential Child Care Association, and changed names in 1985. It has a charitable wing called SCA (Education).
It provides admin help for the parliamentary Personal Social Services APPG.
