In 2009: "SIR Donald Curry, until recently Defra’s sustainable food and farming adviser, is to become the new chair of the Government’s Better Regulation Executive...Sir Donald’ s influential 2002 Policy Commission report laid a blueprint for food and farming policy in England. Recently he chaired difficult discussions between farming and environmental groups on a new environmental policy to replace set-aside in England.

"He currently chairs the NFU Mutual Insurance Society and advises the Waitrose-John Lewis Partnership on food and agriculture issues. He has previously chaired the Meat and Livestock Commission and owns and runs a 440 acre arable farm in Northumberland." [1]
