Simone Filippini "is currently head of the Woman and Development division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before, she worked at the Dutch embassy in Jakarta and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague on the subjects Middle East, Euro-Mediterranean relations and EU. Originally she studied Slavic language at Utrecht University. She is the International Secretary of D66 and the president of the Board of IDI (International Democratic Initiative)." [1] She also serves on the executive board of the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy.
