Biographical Information

"Shizuko Yamamoto is one of the world's leading shiatsu practitioners and macrobiotic consultants. She served as president of the Macrobiotic Center of New York from 1970 to 1990, founder of the International Macrobiotic Shiatsu Society, and has given seminars and workshops throughout the United States, Europe, Cuba, and her native Japan. She is also an accomplished cooking instructor and has lectured and written widely on the importance of a diet centered on whole grains (and other fresh natural foods) to personal and family health. She is the author of several books including Barefoot Shiatsu, The Shiatsu Handbook, and Whole Health Shiatsu. She has been a macrobiotic educator in New York City for the last 35 years."[1]
