Shireen Hunter "is director of Islamic Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. From 1966-1978, she was a member of the Iranian Foreign Service, serving abroad in London, New York (UN), and Geneva. Dr. Hunter has a Ph.D. from the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Etudes Internationales in Geneva. Her books include OPEC and the Third World: Politics of Aid, The Politics of Islamic Revivalism, Iran and the World: Continuity in the Revolutionary Decade, and Iran After Khomeini. Dr. Hunter has appeared in many leading foreign policy journals and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She has also published books about Central Asia." [1]
She is also a director of the American Iranian Council.
