Shari Jackson

Shari Jackson is a lobbyist who works for the American Chemistry Council (ACC) assisting large American plastics companies to defeat laws and ordinances banning plastic grocery bags. She is the spokesperson for ACC's Progressive Bag Affiliates.

In April, 2009, Jackson testified in opposition to a proposal to tax plastic bags to help reduce a crippling amount of plastic bag litter clogging the Anacostia River in the District of Columbia. The D.C. Department of the Environment reported that 50% of the trash clogging the river was plastic bags. The bags were also clogging the D.C. sewer system and harming animals around the river.
