Biographical Information
"Sarel Johan du Toit, a chartered accountant by profession, was appointed Chief Executive Officer with effect from December 5, 2008, after serving as Financial Director for more than four months. He joined Central Rand Gold from global mining giant BHP Billiton. Based in Johannesburg, he headed up the South African and European Financial Shared Services for BHP Billiton plc, delivering all aspects of financial management and reporting. During his time at BHP Billiton he gained valuable insight into managing large-scale processes and mining operations. From 1996 to 2004, he worked for Standard Bank of South Africa, reporting to the Board on financial management, performance analysis and latterly coordinating Standard Bank’s three-year strategic financial forecast."
