Sanjiv Gupta

Sanjiv Gupta is an ex-Hindustan Lever manager. Hindustan Lever or HLL is the Indian Subsidary of Anglo-Dutch major Unilever. He left HLL to join a media company started by India's foremeost celebrity, Amitabh Bachan called ABCL or Amitabh Bachan Corporation Ltd. After a few highs for the company including hosting the Ms World Contest in Bangalore, the company ran into rough weather and ran up huge debts. A major reason was attributed to the inability of Mr Bachan and Mr Gupta to get along with each other. Mr Gupta eventually left ABCL to join Coca Cola as Exec-VP and then eventually became CEO for India. Mr Gupta's affialation with Coca-Cola is widely see as the reason for Mr Bachan's endorsement of arch rival Pepsi in the Indian Media.
