Sandra D. Melone - Executive Director of Search for Common Ground.

"Ms. Melone has been at Search for Common Ground since April 1995, and has served as our Executive Director since August 2004. Previously, she established our Brussels headquarters (formerly the European Centre for Common Ground) and founded the Women's Peace Centre, a project of Search for Common Ground in Burundi. Before coming to SFCG, she worked in human rights advocacy with Amnesty International and in international education. Ms. Melone has given numerous workshops in conflict transformation, consensus-building, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication, as well as presentations at international gatherings on various aspects of conflict prevention and resolution. She was a founding member of the Board of the European Platform for Conflict Prevention and Transformation (EPCPT) and of the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO) and currently serves on the Board of the Alliance for Peacebuilding. She has appeared on CNN, BBC, and the Voice of America and has written several articles on conflict transformation. She studied at the University of Chicago and Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich. Ms. Melone is a citizen of France, the United States, and Romania." [1]
