Sam Dawson joined Dawson McCarthy Nelson Media in 2001 after "over 20 years of campaign experience to DMN Media. [Prior] he served as a Senior Consultant to the National Republican Congressional Committee in 2000. Dawson was a top political aide to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, including devising strategy for the Republican takeover of the House in 1994. Dawson was a senior staffer in the 1992 campaign of [[George H.W. Bush|former President [George H.W.] Bush. He has managed statewide campaigns across the country as well as numerous issue campaigns," his 2001 archived DMNM bio states.[1]
