Salvador G. Sarmiento
Salvador G. Sarmiento "is Legal Associate at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights. He has supported RFK Center's advocacy on a regional approach to the crisis in Sudan, Chad and the Central African Republic; on addressing issues of accountability for the international community's interventions in Haiti; and on long overdue federal legislation for resident-based Gulf Coast recovery.
"Mr. Sarmiento works with 2002 RFK Laureate Loune Viaud from Haiti to address the impact of US policy on the right to food, water and health in Haiti and with 2005 RFK Laureate Stephen Bradberry to support the rights of displaced and low-income residents of the US Gulf Coast still struggling from the effects of the 2005 and 2008 hurricanes. Mr. Sarmiento also oversees the Center's legal partnerships with law firms and law school clinics.
"Mr. Sarmiento received a B.A. in International Studies from the University of California, Irvine and a J.D. from King Hall at the University of California, Davis School of Law." [1]
