SUPERVALU Inc. is the third largest grocery chain in the U.S., having about 2,500 stores nationwide. In 2006, SUPERVALU bought Albertsons (formerly Albertson's, Inc.). Besides selling retail, SUPERVALU also sells wholesale, selling to 2,200 grocery stores. [1]
SUPERVALU brand stores include SUPERVALU, Acme, Albertsons, bigg's, Bristol Farms, Cub Foods, Farm Fresh Food & Pharmacy, Hornbacher's, Jewel-Osco, Shaw's/Star Market, Shop ‘n Save, Shoppers Food & Pharmacy, and Sunflower Market. [2]
