Ruth Melkonian-Hoover
Dr. Ruth Melkonian "is an assistant professor of political studies at Gordon College in Wenham, MA. She holds a PhD and MA in political science from Emory University and a BA in the social sciences and humanities from Biola University. Her areas of interest include Latin America, political participation, democratization, and women and politics. She is currently writing on factors leading to and away from democratization as well as the political activities of workers in international factories in Mexico. She has held a Civitas Fellowship at the Brookings Institution and a Research Assistantship at the Carter Center. She worked for many years as a program manager at the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C. She is a member of CFIA’s Experts panel." [1]
