Ruth Barrett Rendler is the Deputy Director of the Center for Victims of Torture.

"Ms. Barrett Rendler has dedicated her career to managing nonprofits and community organizations. After serving as the director of volunteer services at CVT, she was promoted to deputy director in 1999. In addition to her work at the center, she served as a board member for Amnesty International USA from 1999 to 2004

"Prior to joining CVT, Ms. Barrett Rendler was the field director for a national lobbying organization focused on highway safety, as deputy director and then director of the Midwest region for Amnesty International, and as curator and volunteer coordinator of the Chicago Peace Museum. She also spent the summer of 1990 in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, overseeing students who aided asylum seekers incarcerated in INS detention facilities.
