Ron Campbell is a consultant for SPS Consultants, a Washington D.C. lobbying company.
Campbell has previously worked "as Director of Phytosanitary Issues for the Western Hemisphere, Plant Protection and Quarantine Programs, Animal Health Inspection Service (APHIS, PPQ), he coordinated and directed APHIS plant health programs involving import and export trade in plants and plant products. Mr. Campbell served as the frontline for the USDA in phytosanitary concerns within agricultural trade for North, Central and South America." [1]
"Mr. Campbell has worked with Mexican avocado exporters for expanded market access in the United States. By developing scientific and technical approaches designed to mitigate the risk of the specific pest complex that prevented free movement of the fruit, and successfully facilitating APHIS to publish a final rule to amend the regulations that govern the import of Mexican Hass avocados, there was a consequential doubling of the U.S. market for Mexican producers," his biogrpahical note states.
