Career

  • 1975-1978: professional staff member at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM
  • 1978: member of the U.S. comprehensive test ban negotiating delegation in Geneva, Switzerland, representing the Defense Nuclear Agency and supporting the Joint Chiefs of Staff representative
  • 1979: joined the minority staff of the Senate Budget Committee as the senior analyst for defense and international affairs
  • 1980-1982: senior defense analyst on the majority staff of the Senate Budget Committee
  • 1982-1984: Director of Defense Programs and National Security Telecommunications Policy for the National Security Council
  • 1984-1989: Assistant Secretary of Defense (comptroller)
  • 1989-: Corporate Vice President Northrop Grumman and since 1993 also responsible for maintaining effective relations between Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Government.
