Biographical Information
"Robert J. Stevens, 62, is a retired chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation, a firm engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced-technology systems, products and services. Prior to his retirement, he served as executive chairman of the board and served as the Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer from August 2004 through December 2012. He was elected Chairman in April 2005 and became Executive Chairman in January 2013. Previously, he held a variety of increasingly responsible executive positions with the Corporation, including President and Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and head of Strategic Planning. In January 2012, he was appointed by President Barack Obama to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. Mr. Stevens has served as a director on the Monsanto board since August 2002. He chairs the board’s Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and he is a member of the Audit and Finance Committee and the Executive Committee. He also serves as Monsanto’s lead director."
