Robert G. Menzi "combines an unusual breadth of experience in nonprofit management, the international development arena, and the financial and for-profit sectors.

"As he oversees JGI’s operations, he is helping to navigate the Institute’s expansive growth in programs and reach, and he contributes to a variety of business and strategic planning efforts. He also is working closely with the president to develop commercial opportunities for the Institute's for-profit entity, Jane Goodall Enterprises.

"Prior to joining the Institute Mr. Menzi was the Chief Operating Officer of Protiveris, Inc. There he led the company’s commercial development and oversaw its first product launch and expansion into the discovery research markets.

"Mr. Menzi also worked as part of the corporate development staff at Raytheon Company, where he led development of mergers and acquisitions and was responsible for key aspects in deal formation, negotiations, and due diligence. Additionally, he managed an investment partnership in the Middle East.

"Mr. Menzi served as a volunteer from 1988 to 1990 with the United States Peace Corps in the Yemen Arab Republic, where he administered the English language program of the National Institute for Public Administration. He also worked closely with the US Ambassador, US Agency for International Development, and Yemeni tribal leaders to create a scholarship for deserving students to study English in the United States.

"Mr. Menzi received a bachelors degree from Bowdoin College and a Master of Arts from the Fletcher School at Tufts and Harvard Universities with a dual focus in International Finance and Middle East Political History." [1]
