Biographical Information

"After a 20 year career with agricultural and construction equipment manufacturer International Harvester, Rob joined the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) where he was Chief Executive from 1987 to 1993 before embarking on independent consultancy work until his retirement.

"Rob is a founder Director of the Land Restoration Trust. He has been a Trustee Board Member of the Groundwork Federation since 1999, and chair of its Policy and Resources Committee, Vice-Chairman of Groundwork Thames Valley, a Vice President of BTCV and a member of its Trustee Appointment Committee, and a Trustee of the Stowe House Preservation Trust.

"He has been a member of the National Trust Council since 2001 and a member of its Thames & Solent Regional Committee since 2004, before being invited to chair the expanded South East Regional Committee in 2010. He chairs the Nominations Committee for the appointment of Trustees. He is Vice-Chairman of his local Parish Council and Secretary of his local Parochial Church Council, where he takes a keen interest in the preservation of a Grade 1 15th century church.

"He has previously served on the Board of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, as a member of the Council for National Parks, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1992."[1]
