Rick Surpin

Rick Surpin "serves as founder and president of Independence Care System (ICS), a nonprofit, Medicaid-managed, long-term care organization for adults with physical disabilities. Rick also founded Cooperative Home Care Associates (CHCA), a worker-owned home care agency in the South Bronx. He currently chairs CHCA’s Board of Directors.

"Under Mr. Surpin’s guidance, CHCA initiated the Quality Care through Quality Jobs model that PHI promotes. He also serves as chair of PHI’s board of directors. In 2004, the Schwab Foundation named him an “Outstanding Social Entrepreneur." [1]
