Richard E. Stearns
Richard Stearns "joined World Vision in June of 1998, after serving more than 23 years as a corporate executive. Since joining World Vision, his emphasis has been on building a strong leadership team focused on bringing corporate best practices to the non-profit sector and instilling a culture of accountability at all levels of the organization. He has also been a catalyst for World Vision's efforts to turn the tide on the AIDS pandemic and has worked energetically to engage the Christian community across America, challenging them to respond with compassion and commitment to this great humanitarian crisis of our time. His professional career began in marketing with the Gillette Company. From 1977 to 1985 he held various roles with Parker Brothers Games, culminating in his appointment as President in 1984. He joined Lenox, the American gift and tableware company, in 1987 as a division President and was named president and CEO of Lenox Inc., in 1995. Mr. Stearns received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his graduate degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania." [1]
