Biographical Information
Richard Pennycook joined the Co-operative Group "after nearly eight years as Group Finance Director at WM Morrison Supermarkets Plc (“Morrisons”). At Morrisons he had responsibility for the Group’s finance, IT, strategy and multichannel development. Richard, whose previous roles include Group Finance Director at RAC and JD Wetherspoon, will take up his new role on 1 July 2013, initially on an interim basis." [1]
"A chartered accountant and graduate of Bristol University, Richard has been the Group Finance Director of Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC since 2005. Previous roles include Group Finance Director of RAC plc, Finance Director of J D Wetherspoon plc, CEO of Welcome Break Holdings PLC and non-executive Director of Richer Sounds plc. Richard was appointed to the Board on 14 March 2008 and is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Nomination Committee. Richard has been appointed the Senior Independent Director on 19 April 2012, in succession to David Thompson." [1]
