"A graduate of Pomona College in 1954 and UCLA School of Medicine in 1958, Dr. Richard Huemer practiced orthomolecular-health medicine in California and Washington for many years. Now retired, Dr. Huemer maintains his M.D. license in California and his M.D.(H) (homeopathic) in Arizona.

"Before entering clinical practice, he studied immunology and developmental biology at Caltech, and performed research in cancer and aging at a V.A. Hospital, where he headed the Experimental Gerontology lab. Also involved in biomedical consulting, Dr. Huemer taught college-level genetics. Additionally, he served as president of the Orthomolecular Medical Society, the Culver City Toastmasters Club, and the L.A. chapter of the Committee of Responsibility for War-Injured Children.

"Dr. Huemer has published papers in several fields: immunology, experimental gerontology, molecular disease, nutrition, and theory of diagnosis. He also was co-author or co-editor of several books, and editor of the compilation, The Roots of Molecular Medicine: A Tribute to Linus Pauling (Freeman, NY, 1986). He has served on the editorial boards of several journals, most notably Mechanisms of Ageing and Development (1982-1999) and Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine (current). Dr. Huemer is dedicated to furthering the advance of personalized and precision medicine, to supersede our outmoded paradigms of disease, health, depersonalized care, and fiscal non-accountability with a system centered on the patient/healer relationship, undergirded by a genomic technology that is both robust and user-friendly."
