Biographical Information
"Mr. Fleming is the retired executive vice president of Air Products and Chemicals Inc. He earned degrees at Pratt Institute, Columbia University and New York University. Mr. Fleming served in the United States Navy as an electronics officer. During his career, he held leadership positions in Sun Oil Co., and served as president of Avisun Corporation, GAF Corporation and Catalytica Inc. He founded Richard Fleming Associates Inc., a management consulting organization, and co-founded the Chemical Industry Institute of Toxicology, a world-renowned organization that pioneered research in the human toxicity of chemicals. Generous gifts from Mr. Fleming and his late wife, Peggy, resulted in the establishment of the Peggy Fleming Endowed Chair in Nursing and several other endowments at Lehigh Valley Health Network that support nursing education and practice, hospice care, pain management and trauma care, as well as lecture series in internal medicine, infectious diseases and infection control. He formerly served on the boards of Valley Youth House and The Salvation Army. Mr. Fleming lives in Zionsville. " [1]
