Retain Our Majority Program

Retain Our Majority Program (ROMP) was organized by former House Majority Leader Thomas D. DeLay. It was comprised of "his 65-member whip organization, as well as lobbyists and other House leaders, to give to 10 Republican incumbents who are expecting tough re-election fights next fall. The effort raised roughly $1 million and spawned another effort, Romp2, in which House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert is soliciting from committee and subcommittee chairmen." --New York Times, October 26, 1999.
