Producers Forum

Instigated by Jennifer Marohasey of the Institute of Public Affairs, this farm lobby group was established to counter the Network of Concerned Farmers www.non-gm-farmers.com. It is funded by the Grain Growers Group which, at the time was the major shareholder of Graincorp. Graincorp has a strong alliance with Cargill who in turn has a strong global alliance with Monsanto. Graincorp was rumoured in November 2007 to merge with Nufarm, the purchaser of Monsanto's Roundup Ready canola rights and sole distributor of Monsanto's Roundup.
