Biographical Information
"Pir Zia Inayat Khan is the spiritual leader of the Sufi Order International (established by Hazrat Inayat Khan in London, England,1917) and founding director of The Saluk Academy, an esoteric school located in Upstate New York. He is the eldest son of Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan and was raised in the culture of modern America, although in an ambiance of Indian mysticism. He lived and studied with the Dalai Lama at age 14, and has studied with the Pirs of the Chishti lineage in India. His initiatory heritage integrates the sacred transmissions of the Chisti, Suhrawardi, Qadiri, and Naqshbandi lineages of Sufism within a post-denominational, inter-spiritual trajectory. Pir Zia holds a Ph.D. in religion from Duke University." [1]
