Biographical Information

Former adviser to the White House on financial markets and President of the Canonbury Group.

"Malmgren advises leading global policy-makers, heads of government and the boards of central banks on how political and policy decisions influence financial markets. Previously she served as an advisor on international economic issues to George W Bush. She worked at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy on the National Economic Council where she was a member of the President's Working Group on Financial Markets and the President's Working Group on Corporate Governance. Prior to founding the Canonbury Group, Malmgren was the Deputy Head of Global Investment Strategy at UBS Warburg in London. She was previously the Chief Currency Strategist at Bankers Trust Company and also headed the Global Asset Management business in Asia. Prior to her career in investment banking, she was a trade policy specialist with the Trade Policy Research Centre in London and the OECD in Paris." [1]
