Philip Mitchell M.B., B.S., M.D., F.R.A.N.Z.C.P., F.R.C.PSYCH. is Professor and Head of the School of Psychiatry, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. [1]

Professor Philip Mitchell was appointed as a professor of the School of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales in January, 1999 and then as Head of School in May, 2002. [1]

Philip Mitchell's focus of research includes the molecular genetics of bipolar disorder, pharmacological and psychological treatments of bipolar disorder and depression and transcranial magnetic stimulation for depression. [1]

Philip Mitchell is on the editorial boards of Psychiatric Genetics and the World Journal of Biological Psychiatry. [1]

His pharmaceutical firm advisory board appointments have included membership with the Eli Lilly Zyprexa Bipolar Depression Global Advisory Board in 2006. [2]

Philip Mitchell is a consultant psychiatrist with the Black Dog Institute. [3]
