Philip Dimitrov - Former Prime Minister of Bulgaria (1991-1992)
"An attorney since 1979, he is currently Attorney-at-Law at the Bulgarian Institute for Legal Development.
"Political Experience: In 1990, Dimitrov became Vice President of the Union of Democratic Forces, responsible for Foreign Relations. Later that year he was nominated party President, a position he held until his electoral victory in 1991 becoming Bulgaria’s Prime Minister until 1992. From 1991-1997 he served as a Member of Parliament.
"From 1995-1997 he was Vice Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee EU – Bulgaria. From 1997- 1998 he served as Ambassador of Bulgaria to the UN in New York and from 1998- 2002 Ambassador of Bulgaria to the US in Washington. Since July 2005 he is again Member of Parliament and Deputy Speaker of the Bulgarian National Assembly.
"In 1999 Mr. Dimitrov was awarded the Truman-Reagan Freedom Award for his contribution to overcoming Communism." [1]
