Biographical Information (2008)

"Peter Stormonth Darling is a law graduate from Oxford University (MA Honours) who has spent most of his career in the investment business. He was chairman from 1979 to 1992, and a non-executive director from 1992 to 1998, of Mercury Asset Management Group, which went public in 1987 and was sold to Merrill Lynch in 1998. He continues his Merrill Lynch association as a director of Merrill Lynch Asset Allocator plc.

"He is currently chairman of Atlas Capital Group Holdings S.A., an investment management company engaged in private client advisory services; of Welbeck Land, a property development company, and of Alta Advisers, a substantial private family office based in London. He is a director of Howard de Walden Estates and of various companies in the US and Canada. Previous directorships include Scottish and Southern Energy plc and Scottish Equitable plc (now Aegon UK).

"He is a member of the Investments Committee of the United Nations Pension Fund, a member of the Executive Committee of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, and a trustee of the World Monuments Fund (US) and the World Monuments Fund in Britain. "[1]
