Peter Core
Peter Core is Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). "He took up the position in July 2002. As CEO, Mr Core is responsible for developing and implementing ACIAR’s strategic and operational plans, and for managing the Centre’s operational functions.
"Mr Core has a Bachelor of Rural Science and a Masters of Economics, both from the University of New England. During his career he has worked for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Secretary of the Australian Agricultural Council, the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Agricultural Economics, Deputy Secretary of the Federal Department of Primary Industries and has been Secretary (CEO) of the Federal Departments of Industrial Relations and of Transport. Before joining ACIAR Mr Core was Managing Director of the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation." [1]
