Biographical Information

"A dedicated alumnus of St. Edward's School and Magdalen College at Oxford University, Peter Barton preceded his professional career with military service as 2nd Lieutenant in Oxford & Bucks - stationed on the island of Cyprus at the time- and Captain in the London Rifle Brigade. Peter Barton's executive career - based in the City of London - spanned over 20 years as a corporate lawyer, followed by 13 years as an investment banker. During the past 10 years, Peter has held a number of non-executive and pro bono appointments - including Deputy Chairman of Alliance & Leicester plc and current Chairmanships of: Howard de Walden Estates Ltd, The Guinness Partnership, Bramdean Asset Management LLP and Chelsminster Group Ltd . Peter also proudly serves as a Director of F&C US Smaller Companies plc and easyGroup Holdings Ltd. His current pro bono appointments include Chairman of The Leonard Ingrams Foundation, Member of the Audit & Scrutiny Committee of Oxford University and Member of the Finance Committee of the Royal Commission for the 1851 Exhibition. Peter has been nominated a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London. A vibrant member of the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation's Conseil d'Administration, Peter brings his years of pro-bono experience, sound, sage advisory and gustatory appreciation to the Foundation's quarterly meetings."[1]
