"Pete qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte and was a partner in the Tax Division, specialising in corporate income tax. Having joined the Nedcor Group in 1991, working initially in Management Services Division in the Tax Department. Pete moved to the banking side of the business in 1994. Previously head of Nedbank’s Corporate Banking Division, Pete was then appointed Managing Director of the Retail and Wealth Management business, responsible for the Nedbank, Old Mutual Bank, Pick ‘n Pay Go Banking, the Wealth Management businesses and the insurance/assurance-related businesses. Pete joined Halls in September 2004 to take up the role of Executive Chairman. In August 2006 Pete stepped down as Executive Chairman, allowing him to focus his attention on developing the company’s recent investments in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries."
