Paul Baloyi

Paul Baloyi "has been the CEO of the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) since June 2006. Baloyi began his professional life in 1979 at Standard Bank, where he remained until 1994. He then joined Nedbank, where he held various positions until he left in 2006. In 2003, he was appointed Nedbank’s general manager for human resources, and in 2004 he became a divisional director in charge of business strategy. From February 2005 until he left for the Development Bank, Baloyi was the MD of Nedbank Africa. This entailed looking after the company’s business in Namibia, Swaziland, Lesotho, Malawi and Zimbabwe. He has various qualifications, including an MBA from the University of Manchester, an MDP from Stellenbosch and the Institute of Bankers’ commercial banking diploma. Baloyi is married with three children, and enjoys gardening and the odd glass of red wine. " [1]

He serves as Non-executive Director of Business Ventures, Nulane Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd., Pan African Investment Fund, Harith Fund Managers, Platinum High Tech Park Development (Pty) Ltd and Chrometco Ltd. He is a council member of the Institute of Bankers. Mr. Baloyi has done Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in 2006; MBA from University of Manchester in 2004; Senior Executive Programme at Harvard Business School in 2001; Management Development Programme from University of Stellenbosch in 1996 and Commercial Banking Diploma at Institute of Bankers, Licentiate in 1989."
