Patrice Franko "is currently Grossman Professor of Economics at Colby College where she has taught since 1993. She is the author of The Puzzle of Economic Development in Latin America, now in its Second Edition with the Third in preparation.

"She has served as a Consultant in the Office of International Programs at the National Academy of Sciences, and as an Adjunct Fellow for the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

"She has written extensively on international finance and economic development on Latin America. She is currently involved in research on the Determinants of Social Corporate Responsibility in Latin America.

"Patrice is a member of the Editorial Board for International Studies Perspectives, CHDS electronic journal, and Security Studies in Latin America. Her current courses list includes a Seminar on Competitiveness in Latin America, and Guatemala's Social Deficit.

"She holds a Ph.D. and an MA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, and a BA in Economics and Psychology from Bucknell University." [1]
